How do I become a member of the guild?

The TMQG’s annual dues are $40 per calendar year (January to December). Dues include membership to the international Modern Quilt Guild. Guests can attend one meeting for free and a second meeting for $5. If you decide to join the TMQG after that, you will need to pay dues. The $5 fee from attending the second meeting will be deducted from dues owed.
We pro-rate fees according to the month you sign-up:
  • January-March = $40
  • April-June = $35
  • July-September = $30
  • October-December = $25

What if I’m new to quilting or a beginner? Can I still be part of the guild?

The Toronto Modern Quilt Guild is not meant to divide or segregate. We welcome new and experienced quilters of all ages and abilities to the world of quilting in a style that they can relate to. We are all constantly learning and the guild’s purpose is meant to encourage our individual development and progress as quilters and artists.

What does the guild do?

We are much like a traditional quilt guild in that we love to share our projects and triumphs (and mistakes!) with each other. We also like to swap fabric, host mini-challenges, and every now and then we get together and sew at our sew-downs and retreats. The purpose of the TMQG is to learn, share, and develop together. We believe all contributions bring value to our guild.

Our by-laws are an ever-evolving document; the current version can be found here. These by-laws were ratified September 25, 2016 effective October 1, 2016.
